Award-winning Silent Uproar are back with a new comedy musical about climate change and the people who will profit from it.
It’s 2099: clean drinking water is more valuable than gold; the sea turtle is among a cavalcade of pesky critters consigned to books of history; and the great grandchildren of 20th/21st century oil barons run the entire world.
Utter. Blissful. Wonderful. Paradise.
So tonight, to thank you - the people of 2020- for creating this future, the richest of the rich of 2099 have come back through time to show their gratitude for doing nothing to stop them and their businesses taking over the planet.
Written by Josh Overton and with Music by Matthew Floyd Jones, Thank You for Doing Nothing is a provocative sci-fi musical that sings, dances and lies about how everything in the future will be brilliant and climate change isn’t worth worrying about.
The show is being produced with the support of Arts Council England, Hull City Council, The Tron, Theatre In The Mill, New Diorama Theatre & The Marlowe Theatre (ROAR).
